About Me

Hi! I'm Allie, the maker and dyer behind Allie Making Fiber Studio. I've been a crocheter for most of my life thanks to my sister who taught me, but it wasn't until April 2019 that I taught myself how to knit. A month later I dyed yarn for the first time, and I have been hooked on both ever since!

I am originally from Alabama but moved to North Carolina in 2020 to start grad school. Since then, my husband and I have been loving calling North Carolina home. I got my masters in Engineering and when I am not at work or knitting and dyeing I love baking, tending to my plants, going to art museums, and traveling (this picture is in front of the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona).

I am so excited to start this next chapter! I have always loved going to my dye pots whenever I feel inspired by a new project idea, and I cannot wait to see what my yarn can spark creatively in all of you.
